FairWind, Inc. is looking for a junior or staff accountant to join our team in our Woodlands, TX office. This person will manage accounting aspects of the business, as well as assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable related duties.


The ideal candidate has a background in payroll, accounting, accounts receivable, and/or accounts payable, excellent attention to detail and organizational skills and a great ability to multitask and stay on top of assigned duties.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in weekly accounts receivable process - contribute to weekly billing cycle and assist with accounts receivable reconciliations, follow ups with clients, and analysis.
  • Assist in weekly accounts payable process - contribute to weekly accounts payable cycle and assist with review, analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Assist in weekly payroll process - assist the HR team with the weekly payroll process that is in transition to the finance team.
  • Assist with month end close procedures - assist the Head of Finance with month end close procedures such as cash reconciliation, allocation, prepaid reconciliation, and financial review.
  • Ad-hoc - this individual will assist the team with any projects that come up throughout the year.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business related field
  • Strong math skills
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Ability to handle information confidentially 
  • Experience in accounts receivable / accounts payable
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel
  • Proven experience meeting regular deadlines

This position will be a hybrid based position. The ideal candidate will be able to come in to the office located in The Woodlands, TX 2 - 3 days per week to work directly with the Head of Finance.
