Team Lead - Heavy Lift Operations

Responsibilities:

As the Team Lead, you will have a multifaceted role, responsible for both leading the team and actively participating in the execution of major component exchanges (MCEs). Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Leading and Executing Major Component Exchanges: Work closely with the Project Managers to execute major component exchanges efficiently and safely, ensuring the successful completion of projects within deadlines.
  2. Promoting Environmental, Quality, Safety (EQS) and Ensuring Safe Operations: Foster a culture of safety within the team and promote the adherence to our established Environmental, Quality, and Safety (EQS) standards during all operations.
  3. Project Team Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources within the team to ensure projects are appropriately staffed and equipped to meet objectives.
  4. Development of Standardization and Quality: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to standardize processes and enhance the quality of operations, resulting in increased efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. Planning and Priority Setting: Collaborate with team members to plan and prioritize MCEs, considering factors such as resource availability, project complexity, and organizational objectives.
  6. Team and Individual Development: Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members, conducting regular 1:1 dialogues and performance appraisals to foster individual growth and skill enhancement.
  7. Building a Supportive Team: Develop and nurture a cohesive team that supports one another, fosters a positive work environment, and thrives on achieving common goals.
  8. Forecasting Competence Needs: Proactively assess and forecast future portfolio demands, ensuring the team possesses the necessary competencies and skills to support continuous growth.
  9. Resource Utilization: Maximize the efficient use of resources, optimizing team capabilities to handle workloads effectively.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in identifying areas for improvement, contributing to the development of new tools, processes, and procedures to enhance team performance.
  11. Timely Communication: Ensure open and effective communication with relevant stakeholders, providing timely updates and sharing crucial information as needed.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role as the Team Lead for Heavy Lift Operations, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  1. Bilingual (Spanish): Proficiency in both English and Spanish languages to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and contractors in bilingual work environments.
  2. OEM Qualifications for Major Component Exchanges (MCEs): Holds original equipment manufacturer (OEM) qualifications and certifications to perform major component exchanges on relevant equipment. This ensures compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  3. Rigging Qualified: Holds appropriate rigging qualifications and certifications to ensure the safe and proper handling of heavy components during lifting operations.
  4. Crane Caller Qualified: Possesses relevant crane operator qualifications and certifications, demonstrating the ability to perform crane operations with precision and safety.
  5. Leadership Skills: Demonstrates strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team effectively.
  6. Project Management Experience: Prior experience in project management, ideally in the context of heavy lift operations or related fields.
  7. Safety Focus: A commitment to promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and best practices.
  8. Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during heavy lift operations and project execution.
  9. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and contractors.
  10. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and planning abilities to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
